# Pickaxes

**Pickaxes** are non-fungible tokens (ERC721) that allow [**mining**](https://battlemon.gitbook.io/lightpaper/gamefi-mechanics/mining) resources. The efficiency of mining will depend on the type of pickaxe. Supply is unlimited.&#x20;

However, they have a limited lifespan and can wear out over time (durability decreases), but they can be [**repaired**](https://battlemon.gitbook.io/lightpaper/gamefi-mechanics/repairing) afterward.
